The Art Book by Phaidon Publishers is a must for every home. This mini (6″ x 5″) book features an A-Z guide of 500 great painters and sculptors from medieval to modern times.
Each page features a color plate of the artist’s most typical work accompanied by a detailed explanation of the image as well as the creator. Technical terms, artistic movements and a directory of museums and galleries are included as well.
This books sits on a small table in our living room and is often paged through by my young daughters and used for playing “library.” The Art Book provides them a fresh and non-intimidating introduction to the amazing world of “art.” Enjoy HH
