I never jumped on the polymer clay bandwagon {or felt crafts}, but when I saw the Viva Beads collection, I was impressed.  The company was started by two mothers who rediscovered an artisan technique called “caning,” which is similar to the layering techniques of Venetian Glass.  This allows for the integrity of the design to be kept throughout the hand-rolled bead.

As I strolled through the mall recently, {actually, I don’t stroll, I race through the maze of stores as quickly as possible, fearful I might develop a bad case of mall-itis} I noticed some jewelry stores were clearing out their cases for good.

This leads me to believe there will be quite a few little hinged boxes under the tree this year, only to transform into tiny finger pinching scream machines later.  So,  where are you going to keep your new stash of gems?

As a child, each time I put on a pair of mary jane shoes signified a special occasion.   To me black patent leather has always been synonymous with “dressing up.” Imagine our delight when we found this chic, shiny and well-priced bag during a recent buying trip!

Blogging is new for me, but great product identification is not. There’s a hot gift for brides that won’t stay on our shelves. It’s Claude Dozorme’s cheese knives.
