We did not plan an “official” vacation this summer, we usually reserve our holidays for winter and spring trips. But I am beginning to feel a sense of nostalgia for a real summer vacation, so we decided to add a new feature – Where Shall We Go Today?

Each week we will hand-select an exotic locale, a hidden treasure or a tried and true favorite destination for our visual dream vacations.

Scroll on down and discover where we are traveling today:

Elephant Watch Safari Camp in northern Kenya!

Authors and world famous elephant conservationists, Iain and Oria Douglas-Hamilton have created a wondrous safari camp in the Samburu National Reserve in Kenya.

Local builders used wood from trees pushed down by elephants to construct the reception tent. Tree branches also form the base of the glass topped tables.

Each tent at Elephant Watch Camp is built around its own trees, making it completely original. Flowing fabrics and organic decor give a true sense of African style and color. Enjoy your visit! hh
